Getting there
The Boerhaarshoeve is located in Grolloo, a village in the rural Aa en Hunze municipality in the province of Drenthe.
When travelling by plane, your most likely destination will be Schiphol Airport in Amsterdam. From Schiphol direct trains to Assen leave every 30 minutes. Other airports also have good train connections (contact the organisers for details)

From Assen railway station, we will provide transportation to the Boerhaarshoeve in 20 minutes.

Some historic context:
The official opening of Agrochallenge 2025 will take place in the Grollerholt forest, at a stone’s throw from the Boerhaarshoeve.
The Grollerholt is the location of the oldest meeting place of the estates of this country.
Here lie the remains of the former Grollerholt forest. According to tradition, it would be the place where the Drenthe Landsdag, the meeting of Knighthood and Landlords, would meet to make important administrative decisions for the population.

In the sacred forests, the mysteries of the then religion took place and it was precisely there that the people would prefer to meet in assembly.
The last meeting here took place in the year 1696. `Since then it was used for meetings of civilians and farmers. In 1897, the union of dairy cooperatives was founded here.
