2. Fencing
Since 2015, wolves have migrated to the province of Drenthe, after being extinct in the Netherland for more than 100 years.
The wolves have found territories in forests and nature conservation areas in the region. Two wolve packs have become residential in the centre and southwest of the province.
As a matter of fact: the location for the Agrochallenge 2025 is located in a wolf territory.
At times, they predate on livestock, mainly sheep, but sometimes cattle and horses also fall victim to this predator.
Farmers and hobbyists are advised to upgrade the fences to not only keep their animals in, but keep the wolves out, too.
